Information on MP3 downloads.

We are now offering all of our Basement Tapes as MP3 downloads. Here is some information that you should know.

How the downloads work. Make your purchase as usual. Order books, CDs, coffee mugs, and a few MP3 downloads. You will check out as usual, with the exception that you will not be charged shipping on your MP3s. After you complete your transaction, a new browser window will open with links to your purchased MP3s. Simply right click on the link, and save it to your computer or MP3 player.

Purchasing the MP3s. There are two purchase buttons on each individual Basement Tape page. One button says "Add to Cart." This is for purchase of the CDs. For purchasing an MP3, look for the text below the first button that says "***CLICK TO BUY*** $3 INSTANT MP3 DOWNLOAD." Click that one. If your shopping cart does not tell you that you are purchasing MP3s and if you have shipping costs, you will not get the MP3s. Undo and try again.

Saving the Files. If you are using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, right click and click "Save Target As". For Mozilla users, right click and click "Save Link Target As". AOL Explorer apparently doesn't work. If you get AOL to work, tell us how.

File sizes and download times. Each file is somewhere between 50MB and 60MB in size and will take about 2-5 minutes to download using a high-speed internet connection.

IF you accidentally close the window before you finish saving all your MP3s, you will lose your links. However, we're nice people and can help you get those downloads. Just call or email for help.

All of our Basement Tapes are available for download. We did have a list here for a while as we were putting up each Basement Tape, but now that they are all up, keeping a list here is just more unnecessary work. Go to the Basement Tape category and click away to download your favorite (read: all) Basement Tapes.
