Photo Gallery from the 2007 Highlands Ministries conference So Let Your Light: A Defense of Christian Culture (All photos are copyright 2008-2010 Highlands Ministries. They are not be be used in any way without permission.)
Welcome to the photo gallery for the So Let Your Light conference, the 4th annual conference of the Highlands Ministries. For all our friends that missed the conference, here are a sampling of photos of that great weekend. Enjoy!
Our conference speakers, from left to right: Dr. R.C. Sproul Jr., Dr. Gene Edward Veith, Ken Myers, and Laurence Windham. As per R.C.'s request, we always book at least one speaker that is the same height or shorter than R.C.
A modest book table for a modest crowd. Facing the camera is the book table volunteer manager, Georgia Williams (who happens to be the sister of Lindsay Owens, wife of the president of HM).
We were proud to sell three great books by 2 great guest speakers: Modern Fascism, by Gene Veith, All God's Children and Blue Suede Shoes, by Ken Myers, and Postmodern Times, also by Dr. Veith.
The So Let Your Light CD cases at the Highlands Ministries book table. They were on sale for $40 for any who wanted to purchase them at the conference. When they are finished and ready for sale, we will let you know.
The HM book table on Friday night. Jonathan Evenden, the gray shirted guy in the center, insisted we put this picture in. We wonder why.
R.C. Sproul Jr. at the Highlands Ministries table, apparently encouraging folks to buy his books.
Ken Myers at his table, feraturing items from Mars Hill audio. You should visit Mars Hill - here.
 A delightfully happy Ken Myers.
And a delightfully happy Gene Edward Veith. Trivia: His friends call him Ed. He calls us at the Highlands Ministries his friends. We like Ed, too.
See? R.C. and Ed share a friendly laugh about something Laurence did.
And Laurence tries to expalain himself to Ken.
Ken Myers in turn tries to explain it to Eric Owens, who doesn't think it's funny.
Ed Veith talking about the Laurence incident to another friend, Arthur Hunt.
Ken Myers addresses the attendees Saturday morning. He opened by humorously telling about how he came to Mars Hill, by means of NPR and Christian radio. Very funny.
Ed Veith passionately discussing modern fascism. Very engrossing, intense and fantastic, but not very funny. Obviously.
R.C. listens intently to Ed Veith. Erin Claire takes notes.
The other speakers were so good that it literally floored R.C.
During the Q and A. Someone asked a question that no one had an answer for. We think it had something to do with Laurence.
The Q and A was so good that the "Five Minute Warning" sign was ignored and left lying on the sound board.
Good friends and recent Couples Campers, the Scherers. Since we neglected to get a photo of Jonathan and his wife Christy for the Couples Camp gallery, we made sure to get them together here. Trivia: Jonathan graduated in May from Virginia Tech. He was in the VT library during the tragic shootings that happened there. Friends from around the country, Highlands Ministries and Saint Peter Presbyterian Church called to make sure they were okay. They are.
Charlotte Smythe, daughter of Dan and Kimberly Smythe. They recently moved to beautiful Virginia from boring ol' Hawaii.
Tom Passamonte, member of Saint Peter and self-proclaimed security for the So Let Your Light conference. He hinted at family ties to the mafia. We don't question it.
Recently married Jonathan and Whitney Landell. Jonathan graced us with his musical talent by leading the singing during the conference.
Our friends, Maker's Mark, entertaining the crowd with some old time music.
The entertained crowd. The children especially enjoyed dancing to the music. Autumn Tremayne, daughter of Dante, got her square dance and "Walk Like an Egyptian" mixed up.
Sunday afternoon Saint Peter picnic at Sugar Hollow park. Many friends from the conference joined us for worship and the picnic, eating, playing and fellowshiping until late afternoon.
Some of the young men climbing around the playground.
Visitors and members of Saint Peter enjoy the fellowship.
R.C. Sproul Jr. and Dante Tremayne discuss how fast they can get their rotund middles to the food line.
 Fellowship ...
 ... fellowship ...
 ...fellowship.
Many thanks to all our friends who came to the conference. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
